A complete diagnostic course for the shoulder along with two challenging and common clinical problems - rotator cuff tears and adhesive capsulitis.
Day 1 - You'll learn key diagnostic skills, specific examination techniques and understand how to interpret shoulder radiology correctly. Practice key tests, understand their uses and accuracy and learn how to rank problems based on shoulder pathology, injury or movement disorder.
We will review preferred special tests, combinations and novel special tests. This includes specific examination skills required for identifying adhesive capsulitis and cuff tears for Day 2.
Day 2
Cuff Tears - correctly interpret imaging information and assess radiological and functional cuff grading. We dive into ideal physiotherapy management using exercise and manual therapy as primary options. As part of this topic, we'll also look at maximizing surgical outcomes in all phases of recovery. Over 1000 clinical cases to draw from in specialty practice.
Adhesive Capsulitis - learn examination and grading severity, potential copycat disorders and the eight week recovery program that can shorten the disorder by over a year. We’ll discuss steroid management, when it’s indicated and how it should be applied. Over 2000 clinical cases to draw from in specialty practice.
This course includes lectures, case studies, group discussion and practical components.

A patient sees you for advice and exercise regarding a recent shoulder injury sustained during a fall. He has restricted movement, strength and moderate pain on shoulder height movement. Dominant arm, night pain. Restrictions to work and sport.
He presents an US for you to read and based on the injury, devise a program of exercise progressions to help with regaining movement. He also wants to know if he should consider surgery and what are the factors to consider.
