terms and conditions - courses

Registration Period

The registration period ceases 7 days prior to the course commencement at 5pm PST, or until the class is sold out.  Early Bird fees are offered up to 60 days prior to the course commencement, with the regular fee being applied after this period until 30 days prior. The Final registration price allows late registrations to be accommodated until course closing.

Course fees

MTS™ course fees reflect the costs of travel, venue use, clinician time and course production costs. Please note that course fees are subject to change in the future.  We will always work towards offering physiotherapists the best value,  hands on education available.

course duration

Doors open at 8am, with registration beginning at 8:30am. Courses start at 9am sharp. All courses finish at approximately 4:30pm daily.

course confirmations & cancellation policy

All courses require a minimum attendance level.  Course confirmations via email will be sent out via email 28 days prior to the course commencement. In the rare event of a course cancellation,  all registrants will be offered i) the closest alternative location at no cost and a 25% credit towards their next course, or ii) a full refund of their course fee.

registrant cancellations & refunds

If you are unable to attend your selected course, an administration fee of $100 is applied to change the date or location of the course.  Within 60 days of the course, a 50% refund is available. Within 30 days of the course, no refunds are available. Registrants can nominate an alternative physiotherapist to take their place in the course should they be unable to attend for a $100 administration fee (the course coordinator will assist the change).


No liability is accepted for additional costs including transportation or accommodation should the event be postponed to a later date.

detailed course manuals

A detailed course manual is available to all registrants as an optional purchase at the time of  registration. Manuals are spiral bound and include full topic summaries, course references, slide followers with note sections and practical / case study sections.

attendance

All registrants are required to sign in at the start of each day. Please arrive well ahead of time, with doors open from 8am. 

Professional behaviour

All registrants agree to a professional code of conduct during the course and practical sessions. In the unlikely event of continued disruptive or unprofessional behaviour by any attendee, the course instructor / clinic reserves the right to exclude that individual from further course participation without compensation or refund.

photography & filming

Continuous recording or filming of lectures is not permitted. Brief photography for key slide notes is permitted, provided it is not disruptive to other registrants. An expectation of privacy during practical sessions requires consent from any other registrant / the instructor to photograph or film practical components.

Practical sessions

All registrants are expected to participate in practical sessions. Please wear appropriate attire to allow visualization and examination of the shoulder girdle including scapula motion.

If you require assistance prior to the commencement of the course, or have any concerns regarding the registration process, please contact MTSS @ ShoulderPT.ca and the course coordinator will reply as soon as possible.


Your instructor will send an introductory email approximately 5 days before the course commencement, with additional contact information for the weekend and any relevant location instructions for the weekend.

examination / CASP designation

CASP examination in the Level 4 MTS™ course is not mandatory, however certification, clinic certificate and access to the Level 5 course - THE SPINE, requires an examination pass mark of 70%. 


Registrants requiring a retest can apply to retake the exam during the Sunday component of any Level 4 course. The fee for re-examination is $200. 


Registrants will be notified within one month of the exam and on successful completion will receive a clinic certificate via mail and receive an invitation to register for the Level 5 course.

duration

Lectures typically are 75- 90 minutes with additional time allocated for  registration. Light refreshments are included.

registration & arrival

Please arrive within the allotted registration window to ensure all guests are seated prior to the start of the presentation.

invited guest panelists

VLS presentations offer leading clinical information together with guest panelists covering sports medicine, rheumatology, radiology and surgical fields. Guest panelists are chosen for their individual clinical expertise and knowledge on particular topics presented at VLS. , Under extenuating circumstances, panelists may not be available at a presentation. VLS will always attempt to find an alternative if possible, should we encounter these circumstances under short notice.

cancellations

Due to the requirements and costs to secure host locations  in advance, registration is final and refunds can only be offered should the host / presenter need to cancel the event under extenuating circumstances.
